Circle presents a Web3 development platform

As one of the pioneers in the cryptographic world, Circle has just announced the launch of a new tool. Practical and intelligent, it facilitates the creation of Web3 applications for traditional Web2 developers. This Smart Contract Platform offers a series of pre-checked code templates and a REST console or API, aimed at easing the transition to Web3. In addition, Circle also offers a “gas station” tool enabling developers to pay their users’ gas charges, which could facilitate their integration.

Key features of the Smart Contract Platform

  • Use of pre-verified code models to deploy smart contracts
  • Interfacing with a REST API for seamless integration into applications
  • Gas station tool enabling developers to cover users’ gas costs

A platform to simplify the creation of smart contracts

Smart contracts are at the heart of decentralized applications, making their creation and deployment crucial. Currently, developers rely on Web3 development tools such as Truffle or Hardhat to deploy their smart contracts. However, these tools can be complex and intimidating for Web2 developers.

Circle’s Smart Contract Platform offers developers a selection of pre-checked code templates for smart contracts. As a result, a developer can use these templates to quickly create a contract without having to start from a blank page in Solidity. This greatly eases the transition for Web2 developers to the creation of Web3 applications.

Seamless integration thanks to REST API

The difference in interaction methods between web3 and web2 is the main obstacle for web2 developers. In web2, developers use REST APIs to communicate with databases. However, switching to web3 is not intuitive. The Smart Contract Platform offers a series of REST application programming interfaces (APIs). Developers will be able to interact with the Polygon network in a similar way to what they are used to doing with Web2 databases. Using these APIs, developers can deploy and interact with their smart contracts. Learning new techniques specific to web3 will not be mandatory.

Gas station tool to facilitate user integration

Another challenge for Web2 developers is managing the gas charges inherent in blockchain transactions. To facilitate user integration, Circle has developed a gas station tool. Developers can now pay gas fees directly for their users. Pre-funding their wallets with the network’s native currency will no longer be essential. This makes the use of Web3 applications more accessible and user-friendly for end-users.

Conclusion

By combining a simplified smart contract creation platform, a REST API and a tool for managing gas costs, Circle is driving the adoption of Web3 development. It will be interesting to see how this new platform transforms the Web3 development landscape.
