On 12 August 2015 I wrote in this media about how and where to use bitcoins offline, at the time, as you can imagine, there weren't that many places to spend your bitcoins.
It's been over 6 years and today I'd like to talk to you, from my modest perspective as a wine and cryptocurrency lover about Bitcoin La Cuvée ® a special numbered edition for those of us who are wine and cryptocurrency lovers.
What is Bitcoin la Cuvée ®?
Bitcoin la Cuvée ® is available in two of France's most prestigious appellations, Margaux and Saint-Émilion Grand Cru. The mere mention of Margaux triggers the appetite of great wine lovers, not least because of the mythical status of its premier cru classé, Château Margaux.
This AOC rests on prodigious gravelly soils, which have given rise to no fewer than 21 crus classés, basing their prestige on subtle, fine wines, which in the most northerly part of the appellation can be more structured.
On an exceptional soil of gravel blocks, BTC-Wine has created a great wine, finding the key to roundness and a little concentration. The Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes give birth to a perfectly balanced wine that expresses undeniable proof of hard work.
This great wine created by BTC-Wine can be stored for decades, preferably in a cold room. It is a perfect wine for HODL, and will reach its ATH in around 20 years.
Saint-Émilion, the best wine to invest in
Saint-Émilion is the centre of one of the world's most famous vineyards, spread over 9 communes with a rich range of soils. Around the town that gives its name to the AOC, you'll find limestone and clay soils that bring strength and body to the wine, while the vineyards on the Dordogne offer softer wines. Saint-Émilion Grand Cru is an appellation d'origine in the Bordeaux wine region.
To qualify for the "Saint-Émilion" or "Saint-Émilion Grand Cru" appellations, red wines must be harvested in the following communes: Saint Emilion, Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes, Saint-Laurent-des-Combes, Saint-Hippolyte, Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse, Saint-Pey-d'Armens, Vignonet and Saint-Sulpice-de-Faleyrens.
The vineyards are located in the best terroir of Saint-Émilion, and the plots of Merlot and Cabernet franc produce an excellent and impressive wine.
The aromas of fresh red fruit mixed with hints of sweet spices will take your palate to the moon. This great wine created by BTC-Wine can be stored for decades, preferably in cold storage. It is a perfect wine for HODL, and will reach its ATH in about 10 years.
How can I invest in wine with bitcoins?
Usually, when we talk about investing in our ecosystem, buying cryptocurrencies and holding or trading them comes to mind. The most common are bitcoin and ethereum.
However, there are other, less common assets that are revalued over time, such as wine, an unusual investment that does not suffer from the ups and downs of the market.
Wine has been part of human history since around 6,000 BC. It has proved capable of surviving geopolitical, demographic, cultural and climatic changes.
If it has managed to survive for so long, there is every indication that it will continue to do so in the centuries to come. Wine consumption has increased in recent years, and is set to continue to do so, as more and more people start to drink (and collect) wine.
All of this is positive in terms of investment, the greater the demand, the higher the selling price, bearing in mind that we're talking about a special edition, numbered and limited supply, a concept that friends and lovers of cryptocurrencies are very familiar with.
