Brave Wallet includes native support for the Ethereum network in version 1.32

Brave, the web browser that pays users to display ads and integrates various blockchain-based features, has just added a new native wallet for the Ethereum ecosystem after the new 1.32 update.

Brave’s native wallet supporting Ethereum

The Brave team said in a press release today that Brave Wallet will now allow its 40 million users to exchange tokens, access decentralised applications (Dapps), run on second-layer solutions and use sidechains compatible with the Ethereum virtual machine.

Regarding this new release, the Brave team said that the idea of a native crypto wallet will be very useful for all stakeholders, particularly in solving the security and performance issues associated with web browser extensions. He also noted that products such as MetaMask, Trust Wallet and Wallet Connect have become the target of many attackers and hackers looking to get their hands on users’ funds, particularly through fake extensions.

About Brave Wallet

Brian Brondy, CTO and co-founder of Brave, commented on the features of Brave Wallet after this new update:

“Brave Wallet requires no extensions and is instead a native browser, eliminating key performance and security issues while retaining the core functionality of the most popular cryptocurrency wallets on the market.”

Another feature is that Brave users will be able to import their existing wallets from MetaMask, Trezor or Ledger, so they will now be able to transact directly from the browser without any issues. However, it’s important to note that this feature is only available for desktop versions, so those interested in trading from their mobile devices will have to wait a little longer.

Other projects in the pipeline

The integration with Ethereum further confirms Brave’s plans, which has assured that it does not yet have an exclusivity clause with any project in the crypto ecosystem, and is therefore open to integrating its products and services with all interested networks.

Recently, the Solana team announced a strategic alliance with Brave, which will bring native support to their network via the web browser, allowing users to actively participate in their ecosystem of products and services, while developers will also be able to link the two networks and take advantage of the benefits each offers.

This implementation between Brave and Solana is planned for 2022, with further announcements expected in the coming months.
